Blog Move...May Be Messy

I'm preparing to move my blog to Wordpress. Please be patient while I move, hopefully it will be quick and painless, no mess involved. But in case you arrive and things aren't quite right, don't worry. I'm working on it! Things will be completely different, colors, header, placement of things...it's all going to be better though!

Fingers crossed I don't mess anything up, because I'm doing this on my own (with some help from my Skype girls)

A Few Pictures

I haven't shared pictures in awhile, I just found my camera battery charger, so I went on a picture taking frenzy tonight. Forgive the messy faces, it was supper time and I was having picture taking withdraws so I had to take them lol

Jaylin, my little princess. She's so rotten.

Such a happy baby! He has 8 teeth and I think 9 & 10 are coming in!

I caught him off guard while he was watching Jeff play a game on the computer.

This is how Jaxon fell asleep tonight...eating honey combs.

This is him after I took the last picture, my flash woke him up.

End with a beautiful sleeping baby. He looks so peaceful.

CSN (preview)

If you read my blog regularly, you know that in the upcoming months we will be moving to a brand new house and we're thrilled. One thing that I'm almost just as excited about is shopping for our new home! We're going to toss out some most of our stuff and start fresh, a new home with new stuff. I think CSN Stores are going to help me, they have stores for everything such as lights, pet supplies, furniture, toys and much much more.

In a week or 2, you will see me post a review for CSN Cookware (one of the 200+ stores). I thought long and hard about one of the things I'll be needing most of all in the new house. I come to the conclusion that Cookware would be best fitting since I'll have that awesome kitchen you saw in THIS post. I choose this set of pots and pans for me to review, and hopefully I'll soon have them so I can try them out and tell you what I think.

Lovable Labels BlogHer' 10 Getaway Contest

As many of you may know, I am a mom of 3, a wife , a daughter, a friend.  My life is full here in Shenandoah, VA. This is my town, this is where I was raised, this is my father’s town.  Shenandoah is part of who I am and my respect for this place runs deep. We might be a small town, population 2000, but we are a town with all heart.

Back when Jeffrey was little and I was pregnant with my 2nd child, there wasn’t a lot of money for the town to spend on new parks and I wanted a place where people could go and enjoy nature and have a little fun. Big Gem park was being developed into a nice park, but it needed something more, something just for kids. After going to a few Parks & Recreation meetings in town, it was agreed that a swing set would be perfect, my goal was to raise the money for that swing set.   So after brainstorming I decided to put together a “Womanless Beauty Pageant”. Yup being a mom and pregnant with my 2nd child wasn’t nearly as difficult as it was convincing men to dress up and join in the fun.

We were starting out with nothing - $0 I hit the ground running, or in my case waddling… I went in person to most, if not all of the stores in town...the florist donated a bouquet and sash for the 1st place winner, the sign shop donated 3 trophies, plus numerous other gifts from companies around town. We had plenty of prizes for the winners and lots of door prizes for the audience.  A good time was in the works for all who participated and attended.

The winners with Shenandoah's mayor, Clinton Lucas

We had 5 men enter, the mayor agreed to emcee the event, we had lined up a few judges and the extra raffle my dad helped me put together really helped us meet our goal. It was amazing to see our dream being realized.

As the event was ready to begin, things got tough, my son Jeffery was with a family friend and he was having none of that.  I got a voicemail with nothing but Jeffery screaming in the background.  How could I leave? My husband Jeff was in the pageant, as was Dad.  There was so much to do and I didn’t want to let my son down and I didn’t want to let my town down.   I managed to hold it together and managed in the end to send a friend of mine after Jeffery.  Who says you can’t do it all!?

The event?  It was a success!  We raised the money needed for that swing……….

Volunteering is at the heart of every community. For me, this event it was all about seeing the smiles on the faces of the families and kiddos in our community getting a chance to enjoy a great park.

I wrote this post as an entry into Lovable Labels BlogHer'10 Giveaway

He's Something Else

Today I put Jeffery in time-out after he hit Jaylin. He settled down, then slid onto the floor and found a pen and a piece of paper. When he could get up he brought the paper over to me and told me he had to put it on the bathroom door. I asked to see it and then asked what it was. This is the picture he showed me....

His explanation? "It's J F E I R, says 'no girls allowed in the bathroom'" He even drew a little girl and a line across her inside the circle! He started talking about Jaylin not being allowed in the bathroom because Daddy uses it, but sometimes she's allowed. I was happy when his F E and R looked perfect, he just needs to get his J the right way and his I a little smaller, but he's only 5...he has time. His people drawing skills are getting better too! He's 5...he don't like girls already lol...I love him!

1st Birthday Celebration - Build-a-Bear (review)

Stuffed animals are a big hit in this house, Jaylin and I both love them...so I can never pass up a chance to buy one (especially monkeys lol). So when I heard about Build-a-Bear's Zoorrific Collection I was thrilled.

I'm not even going to ask if you know which one we choose to review...because by now you should already know we choose the monkey! I initially got it for Jaxon, since it was intended as a birthday gift, but as soon as I opened the box and Jaylin threw a fit and had to have it. Now, it's sitting on her bed along with her other stuffed animals she's had to have, taken from me, or someone has bought for her.

Of course, the monkey isn't the only Zoorrific animal they have, there is also a flamingo, parrot, leopard, giraffe, tiger and panda. All of them are cute as could be. The monkey we got is so soft. Jaylin will sometimes let Jaxon hold it to keep him from crying, but she barely ever parts with it.

With your Zoorrific Build-a-Bear they are offering, for the first time ever, a free Exclusive Zoo Ride for your avatar in Build-A-Bearville and provides FREE exclusive access to the new Zoo in Build-A-Bearville! Get your Zoorrific animal today while supplies last!

Also, you have until June 30th to enter Zoorrific Orlando Sweepstakes, 2 grand prize winners will receive a 5night vacation to Orlando, Passes to the Orlando Area Theme parks of their choice AND all 7 Zoorrific animals! 10 others will receive the entire Zoorrific collection. Click HERE for more details and to enter.

I received products for the purpose of reviewing at no cost to me. All opinions expressed are of my own and not influenced by anything or anyone.
